Is InterChat end-to-end encrypted?

Honestly: no, InterChat is not end-to-end encrypted.

Everything sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS), so it's protected from being intercepted on the way. But InterChat's systems do process the content of your messages — to deliver notification previews, power search inside communities, show link previews, and respond to reports.

Our staff don't read your private messages as a matter of course. They can, when a message has been reported to us, when it's needed to investigate abuse or a safety risk, or when the law requires it.

Calls and Prayer Rooms are connected through our calling provider and aren't recorded.

For the full detail on what we collect, why, and how long we keep it, see our Privacy Policy.
