Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

InterChat respects the rights of authors, publishers, musicians, preachers and creators. Please only share content you own or have permission to share. Bible translations, worship songs, sermons and books are often protected by copyright, even when they're freely available elsewhere.

Reporting infringement

If you believe content on InterChat infringes your copyright or trademark, send a notice to support@interchathq.com with:

  1. Your name, address, phone number and email address.
  2. A description of the work you believe is being infringed (for a trademark, the mark and where it's registered).
  3. Where the content is on InterChat: the community name, the username of the person who posted it, and a description or screenshot of the content so we can find it.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We'll review the notice, remove or disable the content where appropriate, and tell the person who posted it.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you have the right to share it, email support@interchathq.com with:

  1. Your name, address, phone number and email address, and your InterChat username.
  2. A description of the removed content and where it appeared.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria (or, if you're in the United States, of your local federal district court), and that you'll accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat infringers

We disable the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

Misuse

Sending a false or misleading notice may make you legally responsible for damages. If you're not sure whether something infringes your rights, please seek legal advice first.
