InterChat links — like an invite (interchathq.com/join/…), a profile (interchathq.com/profile/…) or a Prayer Room link — are designed to open directly in the app. What actually happens depends on your phone:
- App installed and verified: the link opens the app directly; the website isn't involved.
- App installed, but not verified yet, or opened from a browser: you'll see an Open in InterChat page. On Android, this opens the app (or Google Play if it isn't installed yet). On iPhone, it uses InterChat's own link scheme.
- App not installed: the page explains what the link is (for example, "You're invited to join a community") and shows the App Store and Google Play buttons. For invite links, it also shows the code to paste into Communities → Join with a link after installing.
If a link still isn't opening the app the way you expect, try opening it directly in your phone's browser rather than from within another app (some apps open links in a way that skips straight to the browser).
Still stuck? Contact support@interchathq.com with the link you tapped and what happened.
